NHS Immersive Virtual Work Experience Plus! Programme in Social Care
The July programme saw excellent engagement from participants, with many successfully completing the course, building confidence, developing employability skills, and taking important steps towards careers in social care. We are now looking forward to welcoming a new group of young people in August 2026.

- 10th August - 17th August
- 10am - 12pm Daily (including Monday 17th August)
WHAT THE PROGRAMME COVERS
Over six days, participants will explore:
- Communication & Emotional Support — active listening, empathy and validation
- Dementia Awareness & Communication — understanding dementia and person-centred techniques
- Dignity & Daily Needs — promoting independence, consent and person-centred care
- CV Writing & Personal Statements — developing strong applications for care roles
- Interview Skills — practical interview preparation with personalised feedback
- A Real Career Story — an inspiring guest speaker podcast from a social care professional
WHAT THE PROGRAMME OFFERS
- AI-based simulations using realistic care scenarios
- NHS Certificate of Attendance
- Virtual work experience to strengthen CVs and future applications
- Interview practice with personalised feedback
- A self-directed project exploring a social care role of the participant's choice
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are currently seeking referrals for young people who are:
- Aged 18–25
- Currently NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training)
- Living in one of the following North West London boroughs:
Barnet • Brent • Ealing • Hammersmith & Fulham • Harrow • Haringey • Hillingdon • Hounslow • Islington • Kensington & Chelsea • Westminster
